Activant Announces Next Generation LBM Business Management Solutions
New Activant Catalyst technologies are simple, powerful software tools for managing complex LBM businesses
LIVERMORE, CA, April 27, 2009 – Activant Solutions Inc., a leading provider of lumber and building materials business management solutions, today announced the new Activant Catalyst™ technologies, business management solutions that provide larger Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) dealers quick and easy access to the tools and information they need to effectively run their businesses. These new solutions combine Activant’s functionally rich LBM business applications with Microsoft’s easy-to-use .NET framework. The Activant Catalyst solution offers LBM dealers an intuitive user interface and advanced workflow in a tightly integrated package.
For over 25 years, Activant has offered integrated business management software solutions built specifically for LBM suppliers. These solutions are used by over 3,000 LBM dealers to help them better manage all aspects of their businesses. The Activant Catalyst technologies help LBM dealers dramatically increase efficiency and productivity by delivering the Activant’s proven business management tools within an intuitive and easy-to-use framework.
“Our business is complex. In order to keep things running smoothly, we need a robust business management solution with integrated accounting. However, all this functionality makes for systems that can be complicated and difficult to use,” said Denise Silnes, MIS manager for A.H. Bennett Company. “The Activant Catalyst solution has the perfect mix of power and usability. It is the most intuitive solution Activant has introduced to this market.”
“For years, Activant systems have set the bar for their robustness and ability to run demanding lumber operations. The Activant Catalyst technologies expand this functionality, in conjunction with a carefully crafted user interface,” said Cary Anderson, senior director of Product Development for the Hardlines and Lumber Group at Activant. “It truly is a best-of-breed product – combining the best of Activant’s market-leading LBM business management systems and Microsoft’s powerful, yet intuitive .NET technology framework.”
“The Activant Catalyst software will truly be a force of change in our accounts receivable department by allowing us to streamline our procedures. Fewer steps and screens allow us to get more work done in less time,” said Laura Walker, CFO of Squires-Belt Material Company. “The Activant Catalyst platform is the future solution for helping us improve productivity and manage growth.”
This new Activant Catalyst technology framework and the Accounts Receivables module are available immediately. The Order Entry module will follow this summer. Productivity applications such as the Activant Dispatch Delivery System™ and the Activant Performance Driver Suite™ will also be available in the Activant Catalyst Technology Framework. Additional modules are planned for release on a regular basis throughout the remainder of the year.
