Activant adds two new EVP positions to lead the company's growth in Wholesale Distribution, Hardlines and Lumber

Two New Executives Bring Software Leadership Experience from Global 1000 Companies

LIVERMORE, CA, October 1, 2008 – Activant Solutions Inc., a leading provider of business management solutions, today announced that two executives have joined the company in newly-created executive vice president roles. Kevin Roach will lead Activant’s Wholesale Distribution group out of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and Paul Salsgiver will head up the Hardlines and Lumber group in from Livermore, California. Both executives bring strong experience leading and growing Global 1000 companies as well as deep understanding of the vertical software industry.

Roach joins Activant as executive vice president of the Wholesale Distribution group. He brings extensive experience managing global corporations as well as an entrepreneurial spirit embodied by Activant’s customers. Prior to joining Activant, Roach was the president of Rockwell Software, a division of Rockwell Automation Inc., where he had global responsibility for running this multi-hundred-million dollar division. Before his tenure with Rockwell, Roach served as both VP of Sales and VP of Global Manufacturing at GE Fanuc, a division of General Electric that develops automation hardware and software with over $1 billion in sales. In addition to the large corporate experience Roach brings to Activant, he also understands growing and managing a business from the ground up, having founded and sold two different companies in process control and automation.

Salsgiver will serve as Activant’s executive vice president of the Hardlines and Lumber group. Salsgiver has extensive experience in managing high-end software and instrumentation solutions for Global 1000 companies as well as smaller, high-growth companies. Prior to joining Activant, Salsgiver served as CEO for technology industry start-ups Compassoft, Inc. and Aspectrics, Inc. Prior to these roles, he also served as CEO of HigherMarkets, Inc. and Rubric, Inc., both of which were successfully acquired during his tenure. Salsgiver spent ten years with PeopleSoft, Inc. in various roles, including president of the Education and Government division, where he managed North American revenues in excess of $395 million and initiated PeopleSoft’s E&G division expansion into Latin America.

"We are always looking for opportunities to strengthen our business and management team," said Pervez Qureshi, president and CEO of Activant Solutions. "Paul and Kevin are seasoned software executives who will help take our business to the next level. Their proven experience in enterprise and industrial software will drive our key initiatives, innovation and operational excellence."
