Users will be able to integrate Activant Eagle data in ways they were never able to do before while viewing that data through user-customized reports and dashboards to help them make better and timelier business decisions.
“At the heart of making effective business decisions is gaining clear insights into your business,” stated Steve Bieszczat, senior vice president and acting general manager of Hardlines and Lumber at Activant. “We developed the Activant Compass software as a response to increased customer demand for business tools that help review, analyze, predict and simplify operational processes. It combines the power of the latest database technologies with an easy-to-use interface that allows users to quickly obtain information, see behavior patterns and find relationships in data.” The software allows users to view the data stored in their Activant Eagle platform at a high level and then dive deep into a specific item to see how those numbers were calculated.
By analyzing data through the Activant Compass software, a user can identify business trends, view critical inventory issues and manage their data, leading to better insights that impact their operation. “The Activant Compass software gives us quick and easy access to detailed sales information across our diverse operation and the tools to use that knowledge to increase revenue. For example, with cross-division sales analysis, we can see good feed customers that aren’t using our propane services and can target sales conversions with those customers. The use of Activant Compass is only limited by your creativity,” said Jeff Jones, controller at Valley Co-ops Inc.
Activant Compass features include, but are not limited to, the following:
Multidimensional Database Framework – The Activant Compass software automatically retrieves data from the Activant Eagle system on a constant basis to maintain a fresh analytical archive, and stores this information in a relational database that allows for efficient retrieval and data management.
Flexible Query Designer – Users can now design queries and drilldowns tailored to their specific needs. Favorite queries can be saved, printed, and displayed in a variety of graphic formats.
Dashboard – The software summarizes information as clear, easy-to-use graphics that can be displayed in the form of a customized dashboard. Users can click on the graphic representation of the summary data to drill down for deeper analysis and greater detail – giving them a view of the forest and the trees.
Import and Export Data – The Activant Compass software seamlessly imports and exports data to allow for comparisons and analysis of data not within the Activant Eagle system. For example, budgeted sales for the month in one system can be imported and compared to the actual sales to-date data in Activant Eagle.
Project and Prorate Data – The Activant Compass software gives users tools to project information over time (e.g., projecting sales based on performance in a given time period), or prorate data to a specific allocation.
“The Activant Compass software gives us a clear view of past performance and a more accurate view of the future,” said Mira Williams, system administrator at Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply.
The Activant Compass software is immediately available for Activant Eagle platform version 17.2.
